A Working Day...

Woke up at 5.45.
Breakfast,Shower,Dressed.
Left the house at 7.
Walk to the railwaystation.
Saw those swans.. Trainride with a good book while listening to Adele 21. I set fire to the rain.
Walked to school and arrived there at 8.10
Coffee, mailcheck.
8.45: Examns Financial Management till 10.
Break till 10.30. Coffee.
Lessons Short Course till 12.
Inbetween having a look at toiles from level 3.
A pincushion from a level 3 Student.
Work from level 4 students Couture Department.
No lunch.
Presentations from First Year Fashion Management Students.
Before leaving school a quick view at work from the 4th year and leaving school at 16.20.
Just had time to buy tea at AH to go.
Now in the train heading home.
Came home at 17.20 hrs My first blog written on my phone. I really don't know how it will look when I publish it...so, let's have a go..NOW...

Later that afternoon I found out that the pictures were not in the right order... changed them now..
This post was just about a normal day, as a lot of people have..but even ordinary days can be nice and special.

    Jouw dag was leuker dan de mijne (mailbox probleem oplossen en facturatie voor een groot gedeelte van de dag)in ieder geval en de fotos zijn ook mooi

About Dutch Fishermans Ganseys..and a bit More..

In my previous post I promised to write about the just released book about Dutch Fisherman's Ganseys. Written by Stella Ruhe . In Dutch the title is:  Visserstruien uit 40 Nederlandse vissersplaatsen. There is an English translation with the title:  Dutch traditional ganseys. Sweaters from 40 vilages. (I couln't find it on Amazon, but there are some book(web)shops in Holland who also deliver all around the world.) For many years I had on my bookshelve the only book on Dutch Fisherman's ganseys. Written in 1983 by Henriëtte van der Klift-Tellingen. The book is printed in black and white, has many pictures from beautifulganseys in it, and it tells the history behind them. It is a good book, but the new book is better and more interesting. (but more about that book later in this post) I have never made a gansey for myself, but I have always been attracted to them.  Dutch ganseys (and the same is for English one's) tell a history from fishermen

Crushed by Jean Paul Gaultier....

Jean Paul Gaultier ..  My Hero when I studied Fashion at Art College. I remember buying the magazine Marie Claire Bis every season.. And in the where... The most spectaculair Desi gns by him.  This afternoon I found a map full of photo's with his designs from the time I studied Fashion Design. Combinations no one ever dreamed off.. Chiffon and lace Aprons... Old Models... Amazing adverts.. Guess he was -and still is- a big inspiration for Fashion students.. I remember that we had to make an illustration with silk paper and I used one of his designs. I have always kept it. At the moment De Kunsthal in Rotterdam shows the exhibition:  The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk I went yesterday.. I had doubts ofcourse because Bram is so weak.. But the nurses told me to go.. Neighbours took care.. Jochum came and stayed the whole afternoon..
