Today I had to go to a trainee in Loosdrecht. I left early, because traffic in the direction Amsterdam usually is very busy. But I arrived right in time and the talk with my student and the firm was good very interesting. Before arriving in Loosdrecht is a signpost with the name: Zonnestraal Turn Left. So on the way back to Deventer I decided to go and see Zonnestraal. Zonnestraal is one of the most famous buildings designed in 1925 by Architect Jan Duiker . It is a good example from "het Nieuwe Bouwen" . I always wanted to see this building...but for some reason this has never happened. It was rainy and misty when arriving, but the first vieuw was overwhelming. The buildings is used as Sanatorium in the past. Nowadays a lot of HealthCare Instituts have taken over the place. I had a coffee in the restaurant (totally not matching with the building!!!)and off I went to explore.... The view on the round staircases... I went up the stairs... Up the stairs the view was ev

Spring in Winter.....

This afternoon I made a walk among the flooded river Ijssel. Almost every year this happens and sometimes event the road gets flooded. The sun was shining...a blue sky..and not cold at all. There were beautiful reflections in the river.. It felt like Spring in early January. Strange that Winter still hasn't arrived here. So different from last winter when we had weeks with snow and cold temperatures and warm and wooly garments were very needed. I love a real Cold winter. Guess I am more a Nordic Boy Man. Now I hardly wear warm sweaters or cardi's and my new scarf is still waiting to be worn. But hopefully it will get colder so I can wear my Lopiseya. I have started the yoke and now the fun part has started. The colors go well together and I think it will look good on me. To get even more in a Nordic Mood we have started watching The Killing. Set in Copenhagen (such a great city to go, have been there many times and it feels sort of home to me) it is a very good and exitin

Knit on.....

My favourite Quote ever since I came across my Knitting Hero Elizabeth Zimmerman ..... Knitting always has helped me in difficult moments in my life. It calms me down... and everything gets in the right perspective..and it is nice to make something beautiful for someone else of for myself... Life is not always easy at the moment. It sometimes feels hard to deal with. But, last week Thursday we have had a good meeting in the Radboud Hospital with a social psychiatric nurse (not sure if this is the correct translated name for her). We will get a Casemanager in our City who is going to help us to come through the proces. He or she can organize things which will make it also for the both of us a little lighter. When we left hospital we felt a little better and lighter, but still...the outlook is not easy. We got a big compliment from her because of the way we are talking about it. Being open and honest has always been a point in our life, so also with this topic we have this attitude.
